Goal

Long Term Goal

The long-term development goal of RODI is to enhance food security and self-reliance for poor ex-prisoners and smallholder farmers and improve human security for all citizens in Kenya. RODI is pursuing this goal by working closely with penal institutions and other actors in the Criminal Justice System in Kenya, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and farmers’ groups through the above programs. RODI is works with over 30 Community Livelihood Improvement Groups (CLIGs) formed around the ex-prisoners.

Immediate Goal

The immediate goal of RODI is to strengthen the capacities of penal institutions, partner organizations, CBOs, and CLIGs using Restorative justice, Sustainable Agriculture, Appropriate Technology, Trade and advocacy, HIV/AIDS Program and other sustainable development activities in order to enhance food security, self reliance and rehabilitation among smallholder farmers and ex-prisoners.
