RODI has conducted regional meetings in various regions , Central , Kakamega, Lodwar and Nairobi. In a series of pivotal regional meetings, RODI has convened officers in charge and regional commanders to address critical issues in prison reform and prisoner reintegration. These gatherings underscore RODI’s commitment to enhancing the services provided within prisons and fostering better reintegration strategies for ex-offenders.

One of the key focuses of these regional meetings has been the huge gap in the reintegration of prisoners back into society. RODI has identified this as a significant issue, recognizing that successful reintegration is crucial for reducing recidivism and promoting community safety and the growth of an individual.

The regional meetings have served as a platform for open dialogue between RODI officers and prison administrators. By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the meetings seek to harmonize the work done by RODI in the prisons to  ensure it flows smoothly ensuring maximum results are achieved.

A notable outcome of these meetings has been the easier absorption of RODI staff in the prisons ensuring the work is done timely and targets are achieved. These meetings have also given the prison representatives  a chance to share how the work done has benefited their respective prisons.

“the sanitation has improved in the prison. The soap is cheap to make and is being used to wash utensils and clean around the prison.’’- OIC Murang’a

The meetings solidify the foundation of RODIs work in prisons and also help to ensure that joint effort is put to better services in the prisons and after.
