In this thematic area we focus on creating a healthy and disease free society.

This thematic area has the following projects:

1. KICTB 

The Kenya Innovation Challenge Tuberculosis (KIC-TB) project was implemented by Resources Oriented Development Initiatives in Nairobi and Kiambu Counties with financial support from the Global Fund through Amref Health Africa in Kenya, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the National Police Service. From July 2019 to June 2024 a total of  281,884 people  were screened for TB.

2. Hygiene, Water, sanitation and Natural resources management

Implemented in 2009 to 2013 with support from Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).The project aimed at enhancing access to quality hygiene, sanitation and water among communities and schools including Natural resource management

3.Rights Based HIV Prevention and Mitigation for Kenyan Prisons

Implemented in 2010 to 2014, with support from DFID. The purpose of the project was to reduce HIV/AIDS incidences within prisoners and for those who are living with
HIV/AIDS and improve access to quality care, support, services and improved conditions while and mitigating the socio-economic impact of HIV and AIDS in line with Kenya National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan.
