Hygiene, Water, sanitation and Natural resources management

Implemented in 2009 to 2013 with support from Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID)
The project aimed at enhancing access to quality hygiene, sanitation and water among communities and schools
including Natural resource management. Some of the key interventions implemented include:

 Awareness creation and capacity building
 Solid and liquid waste management,
 Water harvesting, treatment and storage
 Tree growing
 Water resources protection
 Construction and installation of sanitation facilities

The project contributed to:

 improved health and sanitation conditions among school communities, as well as in rural -urban
communities.
 Ac cess to water in schools and community
 Natural resource management, including environment conservation
 Improved tree cover
