INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND STRENGTHENING

This thematic areas aims to strengthen institutions and communities by empowering them with skills and knowledge to develop themselves.  

It has the following projects :

1. Table Banking-Group Saving and Loaning

Implemented since 2004 with support from community resource Mobilisation and the GLS Foundation for Future Development. The Groups Savings and Loaning – Table Banking project aims at strengthening the capacity of communities members and shifting the saving and loaning power to them, and by so doing, helping them to access financial services.

2. Project for Enhancing Local Resource Mobilisation and Community Philanthropy

Implemented with initial technical and financial support from Open society Foundation in 2018 and in 2022 to date with Global Fund for community Foundations (GFCF). The project is based on the lessons learned during RODI resource mobilisation efforts for human rights work and the need to engage local communities to take part in designing and exercising power in addressing their social and human rights issues through local resource Mobilization.
