Pretrials detainees Justice and life skills

Implemented in 2011 to 2018 with support from Open Society Foundation (OSF).

The project purpose was to fast track administration of justice and provide paralegal education to pre-trial
detainees besides working with actors in the criminal justices system and various government
departments as a measure of ensuring speedy and fair administration of justice.

The project also prepared pre-trial detainees for effective community reintegration and self reliance as a way of promoting community
development and crime prevention.

The project was implemented in 8 remand prison institutions within 6 counties in Kenya.
The project contributed to enhanced capacity for pretrial detainees to access justice, claim their legal rights as well as effective community reintegration.
