At RODI Kenya, we believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves to live with dignity, confidence, and hope. That’s why we are honored to have partnered with S.A. Joytown Special Primary School in a transformative campaign aimed at restoring dignity to children living with disabilities.

Living with a disability in Kenya — as in many parts of the world — can be incredibly isolating. Children with physical and intellectual disabilities often face not just medical or physical limitations, but social exclusion, stigma, and a lack of access to basic necessities.
Sadly, one of the greatest challenges for many special needs institutions is providing consistent and adequate sanitary support for their students. At S.A. Joytown Special Primary School, this need was deeply felt. Many of the students require specialized hygiene products such as diapers and sanitary towels not as a luxury, but as a necessity for dignity, comfort, and health.
During our ongoing engagement with Joytown, it became clear that the school was unable to meet the high demand for hygiene products. Yet these items are vital. Without them, students are at risk of infections, low self-esteem, and missed school days — consequences that further widen the gap between them and the rest of society.

It was from this reality that the Dignity Pack Campaign was born. The pack contains sanitary towels and diapers to promote sanitation for the children.

Through the Dignity Pack Campaign, we’re not just handing out hygiene items — we’re building a more inclusive future. One where children with disabilities can live free from shame.
In addition to providing physical supplies, our partnership has also recognized and nurtured the potential of the students themselves. Many of the children at Joytown have engaged in beadmaking and other creative activities — programs designed not only to strengthen their fine motor skills but to equip them with practical skills they can use to earn an income in the future.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this initiative — from donors to volunteers — and we continue to invite more partners to walk this journey with us.
